Evanston – Hailstorm Repair
After a significant hailstorm hit the Northwest communities in Calgary, AB, our team at Boss Builders was brought in to handle a full-scale exterior restoration across this large residential complex. From the start, this was a complex project that required detailed planning, strong coordination across trades, and a steady focus on quality and safety.
We replaced over 108,000 square feet of roofing across the property, using full professional scaffolding systems to ensure safe access and consistent, high-quality installation on every building. Alongside the roofing work, we removed and replaced more than 42,000 square feet of Hardie siding on the north and west elevations, restoring both the performance and appearance of the building envelope.
To improve long-term durability, we completed a full replacement of the eavestrough system and damaged downspouts, helping the property better manage water moving forward. One of the more technical aspects of this project was the careful removal and reinstallation of solar and thermal panel systems, ensuring everything was properly integrated with the new roofing system.
Just before construction began, the property experienced an unrelated fire. Our team was able to quickly adapt, folding those repairs into the overall scope without disrupting progress and restoring all affected areas alongside the hail damage work.
Despite the scale and added complexity, we completed the major scope of work two months ahead of the original six-month schedule. It’s a strong example of how we manage large projects efficiently while still maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
Beyond the main exterior scope, we handled a wide range of additional repairs across the property. This included replacing 67 garage doors, repairing and replacing window and patio door screens, installing new windows where needed, and addressing damage to AC units and exterior light fixtures. We also completed all painting and finishing to bring the property back to a clean, consistent finish.
Safety remained a priority throughout the project. Our team maintained a constant presence on site, with daily audits of field practices, procedures, and documentation to ensure everything was completed safely and to the highest standards.
